A simple way to use the sequence idea
Once the files are complete, start with the mat and a few ingredient pieces. Invite the child to describe what happens first and what comes next. Use the supplied answer key when arranging the recipe cards, rather than improvising an authoritative cooking order.
You can make the first session shorter by leaving the puzzles and colouring page for another day. An adult should handle preparation where necessary and keep any real cooking separate from the paper activity. The pretend pot is not equipment for preparing food.
